The Chetwynde Restaurant provides the perfect setting for an intimate evening meal. Start your evening with table served aperitifs in the lounge or on the patio, and then enjoy a candlelit meal in our restaurant. Alternatively, book the entire restaurant for a private party at no extra cost over the week end and let your hair down!
Our extensive menu uses excellent, locally sourced ingredients. Our menus are all about comfort food in generous portion szies, and great ingredients. Popular options include our Sauteed Queen Scallops with Prawns and Pancetta, Cooked in White Wine, Cream and Herbs on a bed of Fettucine, our 8oz Cumbrian Fell Bred Fillet Steak and Pan Fried Hake with Pancetta, Peas, Broad Beans and Asparagus, cooked in White Wine, Chicken Stock and Shallot Rings. Our puddings include Pear and Blackberry Crumble and Strawberries with Sable biscuits and an Orange and Lemon Sylllabub. Our wine list encompasses up to 30 wines, from a crisp fresh New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to a full bodied Rioja. Visit our bar and lounges page to access our current wine list.
The hotel restaurant is open Monday to Saturday (inclusive), from 6:30pm 9:00pm, and our bar and lounge is open until approximately 23:00, although later closing can be arranged for private functions. The restaurant is open on a Sunday for group reservations of 12 or more. Booking in advance is essential! Pre-Orders are required for groups of 6 or more.
